Soap for a Cause (and Furry Paws!)

It's hard to believe it's been over a whole year since Bird of Paradise Soap has released a soap batch. Where has time gone? While I have been busy tending to other parts of my life, I have certainly missed having a shelf full of soap bars and and sharing them with you.
On the plus side, I'm happy to say that Bird of Paradise Soap has since built up a little bit of demand for a fresh batch! We've got some new followers and met lots of new people along the way to this Spring batch, so I decided to use it as an opportunity to show you all what BOPS is truly about: spreading love and sunshine, in small batches 🧡
This time around, I will donate a portion of every sale to Guam Animals In Need (GAIN). It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a while—give back in a way that feels close to home and close to the heart.
Guam is home. No matter where I go or what I do, it's the place that raised me, and I always want to stay connected and give back when I can. Supporting GAIN just made sense. Long before I studied animal medicine and worked alongside some of the best veterinarians in San Diego, GAIN has always been the place to go to or call when my family wanted to help an animal, but simply couldn't or didn't know how to. They do so much for the island’s animals— continually rescuing strays, finding them loving homes, and advocating for them despite perpetual lack of resources and logistics.
I’ve always had a soft spot for animals. Whether it’s the village boonie dogs or the random stray cat that decides to adopt you, they deserve love, care, and safety. GAIN shows up for them every single day, and I want to support that.
So if you’re buying from this soap batch, know that you’re not just getting a good bar of soap—you’re also helping animals in need on Guam. It’s a small gesture, but I believe little things add up. And this just felt right.
Thank you for supporting the soaps, the mission, and most importantly—the furbabies. To learn more about GAIN, check out their website and social media!
